Job Description

Reports To: CREDIT MANAGER

Purpose of the Job:

To facilitate sustainable growth, develop strong customer relationships, and protect the company’s margins and profits to maximize the value of the company’s accounts receivable. This is accomplished by minimizing exposure to bad debt and maintaining an acceptable level of risk by quickly and accurately processing credit applications, reviewing the credit worthiness of new and existing customers, setting appropriate credit limits and terms, securing extensions of credit, and collecting overdue accounts

Key Accountabilities:

 To review loan requests

 Assess Clients financial status and evaluating clients credit worthiness and Risks

 Preparing reports about the degree of risk in lending money to clients

 Analysing client records and using the data on recommended payment plans

 Evaluating the financial status of clients by producing financial ratios through computer programs

 Filling out loan applications, credit analysis, Credit Bureau Reports and loan request summaries, then submitting these loan application to loan committee for their approval.

 To ensure all approved applications comply with eligibility criteria for each target group

 Conferring with clients to verify their financial/credit transactions and resolve their complaints

 To complete a thorough, in depth analysis of new requests, credit change requests and renewals and recommend risk rating changes when analysis merits.

 To deliver meaningful, detailed credit analysis while providing efficient, timely service to Branch Managers and Relationship Officers at Branches.

 Report to Credit Manager Findings that may have an adverse effect on loan collateral or a borrowers’ ability to repay the loan.

 To timely respond to inquiries from Business Team, Branch Managers and Relationship Officers relating to credit applications in pipeline.

 To work with Relationship Officers to anticipate, identify and collect documents need for efficient and timely approvals on new and existing credits

 To provide technical advice or other assistance to Relationship Officers as needed

 Complete requested reports for the Credit Committee, CMC, and Board of Directors on timely basis.

 To maintain a good working knowledge of the Faidika’s credit policy and lending guidelines

 To ensure that all credit files are complete, identify any documentation deficiencies and report to Credit Manager, Branch Manager and Relationship Officer via emails and other means of communication.

 To review loan files as needed to ensure quality, consistency and compliance with lending guidelines.

 Maintain a good working knowledge of the Faidika’s lending policies and procedures and identify exceptions to policy.

 Cross check validity of information provided by client in the loan application

 Other duties as assigned by Supervisors


Credit Analyst shall have the following skills/qualities;

 Strong Analytical skills

 Software knowledge of work

 Integrity / Quality of reporting information

 Oral and written expression

 Proficiency in Credit risk analysis

 Good Commercial relations

 Teamwork/Team spirit


Education level:

 Degree or Advanced Diploma in Banking and Finance ,Economics or related field Work experience required (domain and number of years):

 Proven work experience as credit Officer

 Ability to create and financial spreadsheets
