Job Description


 Project Implementation
 • Mobilise farmers, including people with disability (PWDs) to participate in economic activities along coffee and cocoa value chain including organisation into farmer groups/economic groups; capacity building of groups in Kilombera district and Dar es Salaam 
• Support PWD to establish viable business enterprises along coffee and cocoa value chain 
• Support farmers and groups on production, processing, establishment of small enterprise and market access for target value chain commodities (coffee/cocoa) 
• Facilitate access to business development services and financial services for farmers groups including PWD. 
• Submit monthly financial and narrative reports to line manager in required format & jointly submit quarterly workplans and budgets in line with the project budget 
• Undertake market assessments to establish business relationships with buyers in and out of Kilombera district and Dar es Salaam 
• In consultation with the line manager organise logistics for field visits by other project staff/ partners and key stakeholders Project Financial management and administration 
• Oversee the financial management of project in compliance with financial management and accounting standards, including requests for project funds and monthly financial reporting in required formats Partners and stakeholders’ management
 • Establishing good relationships with the Local Authorities in Dar es Salaam and Kombero districts, and with all other stakeholders of the project. Monitoring Evaluation and Learning 
• Collect quality monitoring data in forms required and engage in learning processes throughout the project 

Person Specification: 
 You will be:
 • An excellent communicator in Kiswahili and English (verbal and written) 
• A team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision • A person of integrity in dealing with organisational resources 
• Process orientated and proactive manager able to sensitively and inclusively lead and deliver on numerous goals, objectives, results • An excellent trainer/facilitator 
• Able to manage partners relationships 
• Be willing to reside in project area and travel within another project sites, Mbeya 

You will have:
 • A university degree in entrepreneurship, business administration, agriculture or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
 • At least five years’ experience in implementing development projects especially in working with small and medium enterprises
 • 3 years hands on experience in business management, marketing of agriculture produce and farmer organisations 
• Report writing skills
 • Experience in adult training approaches 
• Experience of working in the coffee sector is an added advantage 
• Good planning and time management skills
 • Experience in the use of computers, including word, outlook and excel 
• Motorbike riding license will be an added advantage.

• An understanding of disability issues and approaches for supporting the effective empowerment of people with disability and their participation in economic activities
