Africare Tanzania is implementing a Youth Economic Empowerment and Livelihood Program (YEELP) in Mtwara and Micro Enterprises Development Initiative (MEDI) in Bulyanhulu, Kahama

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, MEDI, based in Bulyanhulu, Kahama for 6 Months (Possible Extension)
MEDI’s Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will oversee implementation of the project monitoring plan and will routinely collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data based on key performance indicators. 

• Develop a project monitoring framework 
• Prepare data collection instruments 
• Collect routine data against agreed key performance indicators, disaggregated by age and sex 
• Build capacity of small producer and saving groups on monitoring, data collection and reporting 
• Conduct monitoring and supportive visits to small producer groups 
• Develop and update a profile of producers, value chains and enterprises 
• Review project data to ensure the quality of collected data 
• Track project income trends to ensure impact of project outcomes in mining communities 
• Organize focus group discussions with smallholder producers on project progress 
• Enter all project data into the project database and analyze them accordingly 
• Prepare project report per reporting requirements 
• Provide feedback to the steering committee and other partners on projects’ performance
• Support producer groups to learn and share critical knowledge and skills on their enterprises 
• Capture and disseminate project achievements, lessons, photos, video clips and success stories 
• Monitor and assess performance of project activities 

 • Relevant Degree (Statistics, Entrepreneurship, Agro-business, Rural Development, Social Sciences) and equivalent from reputable academic institution 
• Experience in monitoring and evaluating SMEs, livelihood and income generation activities at least 2 years with international organization 
• Experience in field data collection, management, analysis for SMEs and implementing monitoring frameworks 
• Analytical, writing and communication/ presentation skills 
• Database and information system management skills 
• Excellent computer skills on MS Office (Excel, Word) 
• A valid Tanzania Driving License with experience driving is an added advantage
