Job Summary

Agricom Africa Limited is in need of General Manager to be based in Dar Es Salaam-Tanzania. The General Manager will be able to develop, lead and sustain Agricom Africa business portfolio of agricultural products and services and develop the reputation of being the lead Agribusiness Company and dealer of choice in Tanzania.

The position focus will be increasing the production and decreasing the operating cost of our farming customers while maintaining an acceptable ROI for both working capital and operating with the highest level of customer satisfaction, and market domination.


The ideal candidate must have experience with International Agricultural equipment companies with 5 years’ experience in a General Management role within Agribusiness industry.  This is an ideal job for someone that has spent many years in a farm equipment, dealership and who understand how the parts, sales and service department run.


Job Descriptions:

(i)           Deliver on the comprehensive long term strategy for business development, relationship building, procurement, supply chain and sales functions to support the company objectives, ensuring translation into actionable innovative plans that also exploit growth opportunities for market expansion in East and Central Africa countries.

(ii)         Monitoring performance and productivity of managerial employees on on-going basis

(iii)        Review financial reports for action such as: inventories including parts, inventory turnover, new and used equipment, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial ratios, new and used equipments and parts sales.

(iv)        Setting yearly objectives for staff, based on dealership plan, with input from managers, for each of the dealership departments

(v)         Establish accurate forecasting based on historical statistics with procurement and industry data to manage supply and meet demand

(vi)        Develop and implement processes, metrics and goals that continually drive performance improvement to ensure long-term competitive returns for customers and the company.

(vii)      Coordinate efforts by establishing procurement, production, marketing, field, and technical services policies and practices; coordinating actions with corporate staff.

(viii)     Build company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.

(ix)        Responsible for developing sound relationships with stakeholders, funders and community in order to gain mutual benefits. 

(x)         Plan & review marketing activities, results and expectations with employees on regular basis.

(xi)        Supports directors in formulating policies and projects and making policies recommendations.


•      A degree in Agribusiness/ Agro engineering/Economics from reputable university.

•      Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position

•      Strong customer care skills

•      Fluency in English and Kiswahili, both written and verbal

•      Understanding global market trends (pricing, supply, demand & exchange rate)

•      Competency in computer skills (Microsoft Office applications)

•      A valid Tanzania driver’s license.
