Job Description

DRTC Trading Company Limited is locally registered trading company dealing with the importation and local distribution of general merchandise such as agricultural inputs, agro produce, building materials throughout the United Republic of Tanzania and to a certain extent re - exportation to the neighboring countries. The company operates one main sales outlet at its Headquarters in Dar es Salaam, a depot in Mbeya city and through several agents/dealers throughout the Country. The company now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancies:

Job Title: Operations Manager

Reports To:  Marketing: Manager

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:

To offer effective linkage with Marketing Manager and Chief

Accountant with regard to safe keeping of stocks and control of stock movements as well as ensure a smooth and regular flow of information/documents and activities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:           

To ensure accurate and up-to-date postings of all relevant documents on the bin-cards by storekeepers in all the godowns                  

To Prepare and participate in annual and semi - annual stock taking exercises and prepares reports thereof

To keep safe and control all used and unused Company documents

To advise requirements for store maintenance, fittings and furnishings.

To ensure security of the warehouses including equipment and merchandise

To ensure proper stock arrangements/stacking, safe as well as pleasant working environment at the warehouses.

To perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Marketing Manager and Chief Executive of the Company.

OTHER ATTRIBUTES

Energetic team player with wide experience in handling stocks

At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in stock matters.

Ability to use technology in enhancing Company stocks operations.

Deep knowledge in Stock Management so as to be able to advise Company Management on stock levels, handling, movement and storage.

Have leadership skills and high integrity.

Able to work under pressure and beyond normal working

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified Procurement and Supplies Professionals (CPSP) degree and Registered member of the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB) or equivalent plus at least 3 years experience in the field. Age not less than 40 years
